Dordt College is seeking a post-doctoral level faculty member for a one to two-year appointment beginning August 2017 (preferred) or January 2018.The position will include: teaching assignments in botany, environmental studies, introductory chemistry for life sciences, and other related areas; time to develop a research program including shared mentoring of undergraduate research; and receiving mentoring and training in teaching, undergraduate research, and Christian perspective.
The Biology and Chemistry departments at Dordt College have a strong history of preparing students for graduate and professional schools, industry and K-12 education. This preparation is infused with a Reformed Christian worldview, in order to prepare students to be global citizens in God’s service. We are looking for an enthusiastic, open-minded team player who is interested in working with a growing set of science students. In this training position, candidates will be mentored by expert teachers and researchers in Biology and Chemistry in preparation for full-time, tenure track teaching/research positions. As a Reformed Christian institution, an integral part of this post-doctoral training program will be development of the candidate’s Christian worldview and how it impacts both teaching and research endeavors.
