This is bizarre

The following directive is really found in the National Academy of Sciences'
guidebook for educators and parents: "There is no debate within the
scientific community over whether evolution has occurred, and there is no
evidence that evolution has not occurred."

How about the strength of that argument. Debate is closed in the
scientific community, and I'll bet you can't prove that it didn't happen!
Therefore you had better not be teaching any other ideas to any of the kids
in the public school system. I wonder how long an argument would last on
this listserve bolstered by those two kinds of statements?
