Obviously you overlooked the study I mentioned of the size of the nerve
canal which controls (or doesn't as the case may be) the tongue. Kabwe man
400 kyr ago had a modern nerve canal leading from the brain to the muscles
of the tongue. If you have more questions, you might look the original
article up in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Reading
primary literature is a good thing.
