But this is the position you are stuck with anyway in accepting the resurrection and the other supernatural acts of God. You can't prove them or even offer a reasonable naturalistic explanation for them but you believe them anyway. Its a mystery. You could say reason has ended here as well. At least applying the same logic to the age of the earth and evolution is more consistent and honest and a step in the right direction. But the logician in me recognizes the basic problem of /consequentia mirabilis/. If the earth is both 4 1/2 billion years old and 6000 years old, then every possible statement is true and reason has ended. This is different from the philosophical drivel that the world looks old but was created with the appearance of age five minutes ago.
