Yes, it's nice to be nice. But the logician in me recognizes the basic
problem of /consequentia mirabilis/. If the earth is both 4 1/2 billion
years old and 6000 years old, then every possible statement is true and
reason has ended. This is different from the philosophical drivel that
the world looks old but was created with the appearance of age five

I ran across a blog post on ScienceBlogs today and would be interested in
hearing list members' responses to it. It's a response by a NCSE
employee to a blog posting by a YEC from Bryan College, but more
well-reasoned and respectful than is typical for other Science Bloggers.
