It may be useful to point out to him that Christians differ a lot on
these issues; the "traditional" positions, of course, make the news.
My daughter and her partner are members of the Metropolitan Church in
Austin, about 80% (guess) are gay/lesbian. It is a very evangelical
Christ-honoring body, fairly large (600 or so). There are also a
number of UCC churches which bill themselves as "open and affirming,
a few Presbyterian churches which are "More Light" affiliates,
likewise Lutheran and Methodist organizations.

The world is changing. Slowly. What I read in your approach is that
you are doing "the right thing."
