I would like to reinforce what David has just said. It is helpful to
recognize the etymology of the word imminent. It comes from a Latin word
meaning project over. Hence the imminent return of Christ is something
that "hangs over" the Christian community --- something that is no less
and no more true today as it was when the New Testament was being written.
