The great similarity of the 2 psalms (they differ in their superscriptions - which are not strictly part of the biblical text, in the variation between "God" and LORD - YHWH - in a couple of places & at 53:5 & 14:5-6) is probably due to the same original psalm being transmitted by 2 different routes (probably northern & southern kingdoms) to the final redactor(s) of the psalter. Amazing coincidences are often due to understandable scientific &/or historical processes rather than magic.

Talk Psalm 14 and offset every character by exactly zero bytes. Then compare the result to Psalm 53. The similarity is eerie.
