Dr. Collins is recognized for his landmark discoveries of disease genes
and his leadership of the Human Genome Project (HGP), a
multi-institutional, international effort to map and sequence all human
DNA. His accomplishments have been recognized by numerous awards and
honors, including election to the Institute of Medicine and the National
Academy of Sciences. He is the author of the book "The Language of God:
A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief", and he is invited to many
settings to discuss his views on Christianity in debates about the
existence of God and evolution.
