Anyone who believes that a truly loving god cannot be coercive should
be assigned to nursery duty for a while. "We shall not all sleep, but
we shall all be changed."

It's true that accepting evolution is compatible with all sorts of
theological viewpoints, many of which are heterodox. However,
accepting ID or young earth views is also compatible with assorted
heterodox positions. There is nothing inherent in the concepts of
evolution or intelligent design or a young earth position that is
incompatible with orthodoxy, though the popular practice of each is
often problematic.
