When different translators give renderings with genuinely different
meanings to a word in a particular verse (e.g. Gen. 2:6), it is an
indication that they really aren't sure of the meaning of the word and are
only guessing. When the same translator renders the same word differently
in different contexts, it is likely because the word has a wider range of
meanings than any particular possible English translation of it.
