Religion/science events at Messiah College (and Lebanon Valley College)

We are pleased to announce the following events in the next few weeks:

(1) Thursday, January 29, at 7:00 pm in in Leedy Theater of the Mund
College Center, at Lebanon Valley College.

Panel Discussion on "Evolution in the Schools," with faculty from Lebanon
Valley College, Messiah College and Manheim Township High School. This is
part of LVC's year-long "Science & Public Policy" Colloquium. The

(2) Monday, February 16, at 6:30 pm in Hostetter Chapel

The third part of our series, "Christian Perspectives on Origins." Our
speaker is Denis O. Lamoureux, a Canadian scholar who will represent the
"evolutionary creation" position. He will relate his highly interesting
personal story, as a charismatic evangelical Christian and former
young-earth creationist. For more information, see the attachment. This
event is free and open to the public.

(3) Wednesday, March 31, at 7:00 pm in Brubaker Auditorium

The School of Health and Natural Sciences and the Messiah College
Development Office will be hosting a series of events featuring Dr. C.
Christopher Hook, a physician at the Mayo Clinic and a leading biomedical
ethicist. He was recently appointed to the Secretary of Health and Human
Services' Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health and Society. Dr. Hook's
Wednesday evening presentation, entitled "Techno Sapiens? Cybernetics,
Nanotechnology and the Post Human Future," is free and open to the public.
