    Based on the definitions, the numerous transitional forms in the fossil record should constitute evidence of process. I am not clear on how this is different from the molecular evidence that supports connections between particular taxa, as opposed to the general patterns of faunal succesion and increasing complexity. Greater simplicity of bacteria relative to eukaryotes would seem a better example of molecular evolutionary patterns.
