    And I should be clear that my impression is that most of the people at the
    Discovery Institute (at least the Intelligent Design part -- they have other
    interest areas that I'm not so familiar with) *are* Christians.

    But there is a distinction between something that has the central purpose of
    being a Christian ministry, and something where a lot of Christians are
    participating but whose central purpose is some other agenda. Clearly the DI
    is in the second category. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with being
    in that category -- my worry is whether Christians are being misled into
    thinking the DI is in the first category. If, for example (and I don't know
    if this is the case or not), they portrayed themselves as a Christian
    ministry when raising funds from Christians, there would be a problem with
    bearing false witness.
