If you were irritated by me about that advertisement to the ASA list on
"creating and hosting your site" - someone else was and USAnet took
prompt action. Apparently it has been taken care of and there is no
need to complain to USA net. I am not sure why Calvin's list didn't
filter it out but there haven't been too many of them.
In any case I thought I would respond to the e-mail (copy after my
sig.) and it apparently was real since it bobucned back to me with a
message from postmaster at USA net saying (I am impressed with their
quickness since the message appears to have been sent this afternoon):
This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:

Somehow I doubt your claim of a responsible e-mail marketing. You sent the following (see messge after my sig.) to a list of scientists. It obviously is not on topic and I am sure you did not read our charter to find that it is not wanted. Please do not send anyv more mail to the asa list and refrain from blindly sending mail to lists. I will cc this to the list, but perhaps an apology to the list from you would be better. I have not yet contacted usa net to see if you are in violation of their charter, but am first giving you an opportunity to prove that you are indeed responsible.
And DO NOT give out my persona address to any of your users. I know I risk being added simply by responding to you - but plaease do not.-- James Mahaffy (firstname.lastname@example.org) Phone: 712 722-6279 Biology Department FAX : 712 722-1198 Dordt College, Sioux Center IA 51250
