Should the ASA Have News Releases ?

This is I think the question being debated here, that the ASA would make
a press release or any official statement. I think the ASA needs to go
public in some way to show that in the evangelical Christian world there
are many people who believe that God is the Creator but that we aren't
stuck on one particular view. The great thing about the ASA and why I
joined was that it doesn't say you must be an evolutionist, YEC, special
creationist or whatever you want to call yourself. If you do not
remember the ASA vision statement look it up in the literature you get
from them.

If ASA is to make any press releases on a particular subject its
philosophy and membership makeup needs to be on the bottom of each
release. This is what companies do so that everyone that reads the
statement knows how the company views itself and leaves no room for
error. For example, this is what is found at the bottom of any Lucent
technologies press release:

Lucent Technologies (LU) designs, builds, and delivers a wide range of public
and private networks, communications systems and software, consumer and
business telephone systems, and microelectronics components. Bell
Laboratories is the research and development arm of the company. For more
information about Lucent Technologies, headquartered at Murray Hill, N.J.,
visit the website at . "

Should ASA have press releases? I think yes. And i also feel they need
to be carefully worded to stay within the vision of ASA. This is why
people are objecting a lot.

What do you think??
