In response to my inquires to the American Center of Law and Justice (a
Christian Coalition spinoff) and the Rutherford Institute about the legal
basis for voluntary secular professional societies disallowing their members
the opportunity to establish sub-groups, based on metaphysical or creedal
principles, with some type of official standing from the larger
organization, I was
informed by the American Center of Law and Justice that it could not
consider the situation as it doesn't involve public organizations or
property. The Rutherford Institute has asked me to provide more
documentation regarding the position of the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
So now I plan to approach the General Counsels of those organizations to
better determine the basis of their current positions.
