Thanks for pointing out my over-simplification, George.
I guess there is a whole continuum for priorities. At one end are
those for whom the priorities that I implied (family and friends first,
science second) should be reversed, if these people (whose main "calling"
is to scientific excellence) are to focus on serving God. At the other end
would be those for whom science is definitely less important than other
priorities. And a wide range of people in-between who are trying to do
everything that is important for them reasonably well, in balance.
